Professional wrestler John Cena is reprising his role as Fred Figglehorn’s (Lucas Cruikshank) father in the upcoming “Fred 3: Fred Camp” movie. John spoke with IGN about his role, revealing:
" It’s great to be back. I think it’s certainly a testament to the audience who watches WWE and the audience who follows the adventures of Fred Figglehorn. It’s unique because you would think they’d be extremely different, but I cannot tell you how many fans of WWE are fans of Fred. This was something that I could do that was different, but where I could also still be me. They’re still seeing the WWE’s version of John Cena, but in a different light. I get to goof around and be funny and it’s a blast. I’m glad I said ‘yes’ to the first one and, after the second one got done, people started to truly think I live in a refrigerator. And now here we are for the third one. It’s really cool. Originally in casting, I believe they were thinking ‘Okay, Fred doesn’t have a father and so he imagines this man’s man, superhero-type father figure.’ And so they said ‘who can we get?’ They immediately thought of, you know, John Cena, who is like the WWE’s version of Captain America so-to-speak. And it just all worked out. "
We can’t wait to see this movie when it arrives! What about you?
