Justin Timberlake continued his grand reentrance to music at the Grammys, as he performed "Suit & Tie" and another new song, "Pusher Love Girl," before a televised audience for the first time. After a generous introduction from Beyoncé and Ellen DeGeneres, CBS' color telecast faded to near-black and white sepia tones and the much-hyped "triple-threat" took the stage.
"JT & the Tennessee Kids" (as the show-stopping orchestra called themselves) opened with Timberlake's most familiar new song, the retro R&B-tinged "Suit & Tie." Jay-Z also left the comfort of his front-row seat to perform his guest verse on the new single. Before the party could die down, the onscreen color returned as JT jumped into "Pusher Love Girl," another new track premiered last weekend at Timberlake's New Orleans comeback headlining gig.
During the commercial break the following the performance, fans got a double dose of Timberlake ads: a Target spot hyping new LP "The 20/20 Experience" and a commercial for Bud Light Platinum, whom recently named the singer their creative director.
The performance was only the start of a busy night for Timberlake. Following the Grammys, he's set to take the stage for a headlining gig at Los Angeles' Hollywood Palladium.
