When Nathan Kress first stepped on screen as the oh-so-cute Freddie Benson, it was the year 2007. And it's amazing how much can change in half of a decade! Nathan's gone from Sam Puckett's pint-sized arch nemesis to scoring a lead role in the feature flick Game of Your Life and a number other noteworthy cameos. But Nathan isn't the only one who's done some growing up over the years. His signature character, Freddie, has gone through some transformations of his own.
In an interview with Young Hollywood, Nathan explained how his character has matured since the premiere season. "I think that Freddie has definitely grown up a lot since the first season," he said. "Not only physically, but mentally and emotionally. He was, frankly, the first season he was just a spaz! He had a real hair trigger, and anything that Sam said he would just go off on her and he'd flip out. But as the seasons kind of progressed, it would be just become more of an eye roll and he would just let it roll of his back or he'd be able to come up with some kind of snide remark right back at her."
But just because Freddie's all grown up, doesn't mean it's the end for the web genius. There's plenty of LOL-packed eppys to come."Two of my favorite episodes that we have shot, ever, are in this season!" Nathan said. "Freddie gets a job, which I've always wanted Freddie to be able to do. And Freddie screws the whole thing up."
So Freddie might not have hit adulthood quite yet. But that's good news to us. 'Cause the more time he's got to crack us up as Carly's next door crony, the better!
